despalles overcomes the distance that still exists between the German and French language areas. Thus the artist's books of the edition are mostly conceived from the outset as bilingual, French and German, or even trilingual. As a rule, they appear as first publications, always with unpublished translations. In them, artists and poets from different aesthetic categories meet.
Johannes Strugalla
Der gespiegelte Schmetterlingsflug (The mirrored flight of a butterfly)
New poems and woodcuts.
As in his previous publications Johannes Strugalla likes to play with various observations of realities, transforming them to strange lines full of irony, ambiguity and hidden desire.
In his surrealistic and erotic environments he leads his existential refl ections creating deep emotions.
All of the poems have been transcribed by the authors/artist’s hand with a watercolor brush.
The woodcuts are made by white line engraving printed in monochrome surfaces to contrast with the vibrant pages of the poems.
